Vancouver Island Wine Tours operates tours beginning early in the spring up until the end of harvest time in the fall. Tours can be organized year round with advance notice

Picturesque Vancouver Island region is one of the up and coming areas in British Columbia to produce handcrafted small lot wines where quality prevails over quantity. The mild climate gives a long growing season creating a distinct island Terrior. After years of experimenting local vintners have discovered the best grape varietals suited to our local climate and soil. Some of the more popular grape varietals grown are Pinot Gris, Ortega, Marechal Foch and Pinot Noir, together with the island’s own blackberry dessert wines. The wineries are excited to share their commitment and love of fine wines with visitors to the region where the hospitality is sure to leave a notable impression.

Cowichan Valley Wine Tour

Blue Grouse VineyardsSpectacular views abound as we follow the Malahat drive overlooking the Salish Sea heading north along the Trans Canada Highway to the Cowichan Valley region. Identified as the Warm land by local first nations peoples the Cowichan valley is sheltered by a ridge of high mountains on the west side and warmed by the ocean to the east.

Sharing similar growing conditions as the northern regions of Germany & France our warm summers, temperate mild winters and gravelly soils suit some recognizable grape varietals like Pinot Gris, Pint Noir, Ortega, Marechal Foch as well as some fabulous blackberry dessert wines. Experience the traditional grape varieties of Europe handcrafted from a new world terrior.

Each winery has its own unique style; the welcoming staff is always happy to share tastings of their favourite wines. Blue Grouse Winery, Rocky Creek Winery, Zanatta Winery, Cherry Point Estate Vineyards, Glenterra Vineyards, Silverside Fruit Winery, Venturi-Schulze Vineyard & Merridale Cidery are some of the wineries we visit.

The full day tour visits four wineries including pick up and drop off at central downtown locations, tasting charges at all locations and a vineyard tour. On our full day tour discover some of the secrets of food & wine pairing during lunch overlooking the vineyard. We have not included lunch in the tour price leaving your lunch selection up to each individual.

Afternoon tours visit three wineries including pick up and drop off at central downtown locations, tasting charges at all locations and a vineyard tour.
