St Paul’s United Presents: Edie Daponte Trio – I Wish you Love

Beginning Saturday February 25, St Paul’s United Church will be kicking off a monthly afternoon concert series.
Local favourite, Edie Daponte, along with bassist Joey Smith, and pianist Atilla Fias will present, “I wish you love”, an unforgettable afternoon of music celebrating the month of love.
Edie brings passion, playfulness and a love of performance to her live shows.
Vancouver Island Music Awards awarded Edie with “Jazz Recording of the Year” in 2017 for her original song “Island Rain” and nominated her as “Vocalist of the Year” in 2016. Edie’s original song “Ride the Wind” was nominated in the Traditional category for the 2017 International Portuguese Music Awards (IPMA). “Young at Heart” was nominated in 2016 for Best Album – Jazz with Vocals by the Independent Music Awards.
Emotive, playful and passionate, Edie’s voice lends itself perfectly to the wide range of music she loves to feature in her shows. She moves seamlessly from Jazz to Bossa Nova, Blues to Fado, switching between English, Portuguese, Spanish and French numbers with ease.
Next month (March 25) we are excited to present Vancouver based duo, the Reed Jamieson Band.
“We are excited to kick off the series with Edie’s trio,” says St. Paul’s new Event Coordinator, Geoff Brannon, who started his role in January 2023. “Edie Daponte has been invaluable in supporting us to get the program underway and now that our audio visual system has successfully been updated by Lumera Productions in Victoria, we are able to offer a great venue for the performers and the community to enjoy”.
The building is fully accessible to wheelchair users and to those with mobility needs, and has free parking on site.
