Serenade for Spring
June 18 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
$20
Come hear live classical music for the ages played by our nonprofit community string orchestra directed by Chris Redsell. Treat your ears to the sound of strings in the acoustic sanctuary of the Duncan United Church. We feel the selections of music both excite and soothe the soul. The concert features a full sized harp on two numbers played by special guest Lesley Hartford. In addition there will be beautiful professional viola playing by our esteemed director Chris Redsell.
The concert program looks like this:
Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No 2 – A. Corelli
Divertimento I KV 136 (125a) – ‘Salzburg symphony’ – W.A. Mozart
Scarborough Fair Fantasy for Strings and Harp – E. Fine
Star of the County Down – Traditional, arr. for Harp and Viola (Lesley Hartford and Chris Redsell)
Serenade on Swedish Folk Melodies – M. Bruch
Selections from J.S. Bach’s Solo Cello Suites, played on Viola (Chris Redsell)
