Morgan Bristol, Featured Artist at Rainforest Arts, July-August, 2019
For July and August, 2019, Rainforest Arts gallery in Chemainus is pleased to feature the whimsy-inspired paintings and sculptures of metal artist and painter Morgan Bristol of Chemainus. The exhibition spotlights Morgan’s clocks with feathered hands, birds that ‘could be’ crows with four legs and stiletto beaks, and other curiously expressive pieces.
“I like to have a bit of character, comedy, in there so that people may have a little laugh or see something in there that they can identify with,” says Morgan about his work.
Morgan will be on hand to meet the public and discuss his work throughout the opening day on July 1.
Helping Morgan celebrate not only his opening on July 1 but also Canada’s 132nd birthday *and* Rainforest Arts’ own 3rd birthday will be Chemainus’ own local music phenoms the Copper Canyon Band, featuring Morgan’s wife Dawn Geddie on bass. Copper Canyon will be performing live outside the gallery.
Morgan is also known to many as co-owner of La Petite Auction House on Chemainus Road.
The gallery is open 7 days a week from 11 am to 4 pm.
