The legendary and award-winning comedian/musician, Kenny Shaw, will have you laughing until you cry at this PG-rated fundraising concert to benefit the Comox Valley Child Development Center and St. George’s United Church’s community giving fund (from which they donated more than $20,000 in 2022 to area non-profits).
Shaw delivers a fast-paced mixture of comedy and music—earning him a reputation for innovative skits and hilarious one-liners. He has opened for artists Brooks & Dunn, Travis Tritt, The Doobie Brothers, and Billy Idol with fans across the continent from stages in Las Vegas to community halls in Inuvik.
He received the BC Country Music Association’s “Entertainer of the Year” award for four consecutive years and was later inducted into the BCCMA’s Hall of Fame. He received the incredibly high honour of being recipient of the “Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers” for his lifetime of volunteer work and fundraising efforts, including tours of various Canadian Peacekeeping bases in Afghanistan, Dubai, and the North Pole.
Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable donations for the Comox Valley Foodbank, as well; there will be a collection box at the door. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite; or they are $30 at the door.
