Just in Time Choirs Fall 2022 Concert “Colours”

On Saturday December 3rd, the Just in Time Choirs will sing at the Comox Pentecostal Church. This season’s theme is Colours, with a kaleidoscope of songs celebrating colours in their many forms.

Each song has been chosen for its reference to colour in one form or another. The setlist includes favourites like Van Morrison’s classic “Brown Eyed Girl”, “Big Yellow Taxi” from the extraordinary Joni Mitchell, and of course Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours”. This set list wouldn’t be complete without Prince’s “Purple Rain” and we’re even channelling Kermit the Frog with a beautiful rendition of “The Rainbow Connection”.

Just in Time is comprised of three ensembles: Unplugged, the Jems, and Vocal Minority. These renowned contemporary choirs perform under the direction of choral conductor Wendy Nixon Stothert. They will be joined by talented musical collaborators, Sean Mooney on piano, Britt Bowman on bass, and Beau Stocker on drums.

The singers are engaging, expressive, full of energy and the enjoyment they project in their presentations is obvious and infectious. As always, the three choirs will come together for the finale featuring the haunting “Glow” by Eric Whitacre and a special compilation of “Over the Rainbow” and “A Wonderful World”. We like nothing better than to involve our audiences, so look out for a big finale sing-along featuring Neil Diamond’s “Song Sung Blue”.
