Event Navigation

This 3 month exhibit is being hosted by the HMCS ALBERNI Museum and Memorial (HAMM) to focus on the stories of how war affects children over the past century. In over 30 panels of photographs and stories, the children’s stories are written in their own words, tells about childhood in times of conflict, and resilience in times of battle. From the story of the real Winnie the Pooh to the explanation of Dog Tags for children of the nuclear age, INNOCENT EYES forces adults to see much from the perspective of a child. In addition to the exhibit, HAMM is also hosting a free family CHILDREN’S PEACE CONCERT in Comox Marina Park on August 12 at 4:00 pm with musical guests LIEN and BART of Belgium. On September 19 at 7:30pm, HAMM will host a special screening of the award winning film HE NAMED ME MALALA at the Little Red Church in Comox.
