English Choral Music

Cowichan Consort Orchestra and Choir present music by English composers for their last concert of this 31st Consort Season, on Saturday May 6th King Charles III’s Coronation Day. By coincidence on this date, we are featuring Queen Elizabeth’s coronation Anthem #1 by Handel called ‘Zadok the Priest’, Parry’s ‘Jerusalem’, and other well known English anthems on the same day as the celebrations in London. Come hear music by Vaughan Williams, Parry, Rutter, Delius, Handel, and Butterworth. Michael MacKinnon, baritone, is guest soloist in the Delius music called ‘Sea Drift’ with poetry by Walt Whitman.
