Comox Valley Newcomers’ Christmas Event & 35th Anniversary

The CVNC will celebrate their 35th anniversary this month. When you arrive in a new place, it can be hard to meet new people, make friends and discover all that your new home has to offer. Jeanne Tweten felt that way in 1988 and she put out a call for other women in the same situation. In November of that year, nine women gathered for the first formal meeting of the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club.

Since then, the Club has grown to over 200 members and is still focused on making friends and having fun. The Club continues the traditions of organized lunches, hikes, walks, pub visits, exploring our valley, as well as bridge, crafts and many other groups.

Anyone new to the Valley in the last two years is invited to join the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Club http://cvnewcomers.ca

As we become established in our new home, and have been in Newcomers’ for over two years, we are then invited to join the Comox Valley Newcomers’ Alumnae Association https://cvnewcomersalumnae.com or the Glacier Newcomers Alumnae Association, https://glacieralumnae.wixsite.com/glacier-alumnae. It’s an amazing way to stay connected and still meet new friends, all the while, continuing to explore this Valley we now call home.
