Carve an Eagle Plaque

Jun 25 at 9:00am - 3:00pm

$170

Learn how to carve a two-dimensional plaque with an eagle design. This course is ideal for beginners as you will be using soft basswood that is already roughed out. The only tool needed is a straight knife.

Instructor: Rupert Scow lives in Lake Cowichan, and he began learning to carve cedar in his 20s. He soon developed his own style and continues to keep the tradition of carving alive by teaching others the traditional techniques. He comes from a line of Kwakwaka’wakw carvers living in the Alert Bay/Gilford Island area on Northern Vancouver Island.

Day 1: 9 am to 4 pm

Day 2: 10 am – 3 pm

Tickets are $170 for non-cvac members ($150 for CVAC members)
