Beginner Watercolour

If you’re brand new to watercolour painting or are looking to get back into it after a long break, this class is for you. With a playful approach, it’s enjoyable to learn the foundational techniques of watercolour. In this class, we will study brushwork, various washes, colour mixing and more. We will create small, well-designed paintings with clean, bright colours, and the emphasis will be on exploration rather than creating a finished painting. Classes will build upon each other, with a variety of subjects and themes. Join a fun, supportive group and enjoy each other’s company while we explore basic techniques, experiment together, and build confidence. Choose from one of the three four-week terms. After you complete a four-week term, you’ll be eligible to register for the experienced watercolour classes.

Recommended Materials List:
-140-lb watercolour paper, cold press (pad or sheets)
-watercolour brushes (1-inch flat, number 8 round, number 12 flat)
-watercolour paints (tube or pan set)
-masking tape and flat board
-palette plate or mixing dish
