August Theatre Camp for Kids & Youth
Aug 11 at 9:30am - 2:00pm
An event every day that begins at 9:30am, repeating until August 11
In this exciting summer theatre session, we’ll work in two groups (ages 6 to 9 years and 10 to 13 years) and introduce a variety of dramatic art forms including tableaux, improvisation, chorale, and script work. Through fun, cooperative drama games and activities, participants will learn team building, physicality, vocal and gestural expression, performance techniques, and audience skills. We will also work on a mini production and learn about costuming, props, and sets. Families will be invited to come out and enjoy a short performance on the last day of classes.
Throughout the course, we will provide and create an environment fostering freedom and respect for self and others, while exploring creative impulses and ideas. Learn and grow with Tamara McCarthy, experienced teacher and professional theatre director, producer, and actor of over 25 years; and with Michala Bloomfield, experienced teacher who has been immersed in the world of theatre for over 20 years.
