- 1,807 hectares in size and is located at the east end of John Hart Lake on the northwest side of the city of Campbell River, on Vancouver Island. Approximately 15 mins from Campbell River downtown core.These spectacular falls are a highlight to 1000’s of visitors that come to Campbell River. They are the highest falls on north Vancouver falls and cradle a 55mtr suspension bridge.The Quinsam campground at Elk Falls Provincial Park is located 3 km north of Campbell River on central Vancouver Island on Hwy 28 toward Gold River. The Elk Falls day-use areas are located 3 km west of the campground off Hwy 28.
These falls are fast running with a 64mtr drop. Visitors are asked to be cautious and never enter the water, not even to fill your water bottle.
There are picnic tables and pit toilets available from both ends.
The area is home to much wildlife including black bears feeding on berries and the Campbell River Salmon in the fall, also cougars. Be prepared.
