Distilleries

Wayward Distillery

Wayward Distillery is Canada’s first distillery to produce spirits using 100% BC honey. Located in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, BC, Wayward Distillery celebrates spirit culture by producing Unruly Gin, Unruly Vodka, Krupnik, Drunken Hive Rum, and Depth Charge spirits. Each and every one of Wayward’s spirits is precisely designed to be sippable on their own and enjoyed in the tastiest of cocktails. When the time is right, join them for a complimentary taste, and stay for a tour to learn about the art of distilling and where your favourite spirits come from. Wayward Distillery, a group of unruly people fighting the evils of poor quality spirits one bottle at a time.

Island Spirits Distillery

An Icebreaker Captain and a Professor of Organic Chemistry come together to form spirits that are now in high demand all over Vancouver Island, BC, and Alberta, with demand going farther than supply can keep up with!

Science aside, the proof is in the tasting. Island Spirits will have you sitting at the comfortable tasting counter, wondering at the complex curves of the still, marvelling at the number of aromatic botanicals added into the Phrog gin such as juniper, coriander, cinnamon and eleven more, sipping,  relax.  Smooth is the first word that comes to mind, especially with the vodka.  The gin changes with every sip, more of the aromatics being released as you swirl it in your mouth and expose it to air.

They’ve learned what gives you a hangover.   (It’s trace amounts of Propanol, Isopentanol, Methyl Butanol and Iso Butanol). They’ve also learned how to get rid of them.
