The charming story of Sarah Goldman, a kindergarten teacher who is reluctant to let her boyfriend meet her parents because he isn’t Jewish.
Instead, she hires a man named Bob to pretend to be “David,” the ideal boyfriend (that is, wealthy, educated, and—most importantly—Jewish) for family get-togethers. What could possibly go wrong? A Romantic comedy.
This is a fun event for everyone, especially all you latent buccaneers! Our Community docks are alive with fun-loving pirates of all ages and there’s lots to see and do.
Come and meet pirates, fish in the Kinsmen Bullhead Derby, let the kids enjoy a craft table, and play on the giant Pirate Slide or Octopus Bouncy. There are clowns, a petting zoo, face painting, and much more.
The festival will bring a new experience to fans familiar with our former site, which we had outgrown after 16 festivals, with campsites selling out in February. The organization and structure of the festival remain the same. This is a new festival — but with strong roots.
To help launch our festival at our exciting new location, we are thrilled to have three-time Grammy nominee Claire Lynch and two bands familiar to festival patrons – the Slocan Ramblers and The Lonely Heartstring Band.
We are equally excited to announce three local and regional favourites — The Sweet Lowdown, Clover Point Drifters, Country Squall and Nomad Jones. More of the best in local and regional bluegrass and old-time music will be announced in the coming months.
