Old Country Market- Goats on the Roof

The Old Country Market started as a roadside fruit stand providing fresh produce to travellers heading to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Over the years it has evolved into a landmark of Coombs, with a mixture of shops and eateries for locals and visitors alike. Oh yeah, and there are goats… on the roof!

After extensive renovations, we are now re-open! Click Here

Dining: With three restaurants ranging from fast-casual to table-service, we have options for every finely tuned dining taste.

Marketplace:Travelling to Tofino? Vacationing in Victoria? Wherever you are headed, you will want to stock up with our fresh produce and imported groceries. The locals do!

Shop: There are so many shops under, beside and even behind our world-famous grass roof; chances are you will be able to find what you are looking for.

Treats: When hunger strikes, there are many great options at the Market. “Bee Sting”? “Billy Gruff Bomber”? Our eateries are jam-packed with unique and delicious treats.

Visitor Centre –Parksville 2502483613

There’s a reason Parksville is known as Canada’s Riviera. Few beaches outside Mexico and the Caribbean compare with our kilometres of near perfect sandy beaches at Parksville Bay and Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. With long sunny days, water temperatures may be as high as 20°C in the shallows and the flat beaches are safe for everyone in the family, even at high tide. There’s plenty of space for barefoot jogging, beach volleyball, impromptu yoga sessions, sunbathing and fun in the sun.

  1. Ocean swim: Rathtrevor Beach and the 4 poles at Qualicum Beach
  2. Lake Swim: Spider Lake and Cameron Lake are local favourites
  3. River Swim: Jump off the “Nose” into the Englishman River at Top Bridge or enjoy the deep crystal clear pool at the base at the lower Englishman River Falls
  4. At the Campground: Have a blast at Qualicum Beach’s Riverside Resort, featuring a waterslide and 2 pools. Or let the kids enjoy the man-made swimming pond at Qualicum Bay Resort.
