This applied writing course focuses on communication skills required in professional and business fields. Students will learn how to use language effectively, produce general correspondence, synthesize research for formal report and proposal writing, and design effective documents.

Financial Accounting Fundamentals (BUS-100)
Gain a balanced and integrated introductory view of financial accounting. You will be introduced to financial statement preparation procedures and techniques as well as to the fundamental analysis of financial statements for decision makers. You will learn the concepts and principles (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) that link preparation and use are given explicit attention.

Math for Elementary Educators I (MAT-162)
MAT 162 and MAT 163 together offer a first-year university mathematics course for students entering an elementary education program. Topics covered in MAT 162 include Set theory and Venn diagrams, symbolic logic, systems of numeration, computation in systems with different bases, mathematical systems, prime numbers, prime factorization and equivalence and order relations, real numbers and their representations, basic concepts of algebra.

Introductory Criminology (CRM-101)
An introduction to the core concepts, basic data sources, and general research findings in the field of Criminology. A key focus is on elements of continuity and discontinuity between traditional and contemporary theories of crime, deviance, criminality, and social control. Particular attention is paid to the Canadian context.

Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO-161)
This course is the continuation and completion of the comprehensive survey of human structures and functions started in Human Anatomy and Physiology I. It includes an extensive laboratory component.

Winter at Mount Washington

The Island’s only full Alpine Ski Resort.  Our winter season operations start as early as December 4th, each year, (weather dependant) on the Easy Acres terrain. Full operations includes over 60 downhill ski runs, full rentals for skiers and snowboarders.  Easy Green runs to the Double Black Diamond Outback runs.  Enjoy our Tube Park and areas of the Nordic cross-country skiing area.

Private and group lessons available from beginners to advanced.

Mount Washington is known for it’s deepest snow base in all of Canada.  The perfect Family mountain in mild Canadian conditions.

Mountain closes mid April for Winter, and re-opens in June for Summer activities.
