Our market features locally grown fruit & vegetables, ethically raised meat, sustainable seafood, potted plants, fresh cut flowers, pottery, jewelry, food trucks, hot locally-roasted coffee, home-made ice cream, all-natural bath & beauty care, home decor, and so much more!
The Old Country Market started as a roadside fruit stand providing fresh produce to travellers heading to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Over the years it has evolved into a landmark of Coombs, with a mixture of shops and eateries for locals and visitors alike. Oh yeah, and there are goats… on the roof!

During COVID-19 their online market is especially important to keep the residents of the Comox Valley and beyond supplied with fresh, local and nutritionally dense food. Although their store is operational, they are still working with vendors to make sure all your favourite products are available.

Now in its 17th year, this year’s market will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 pm to 8 pm with 20 vendors each night, set up at the Parksville Visitor Centre at 1275 East Island HIghway. The market is popular with locals and visitors looking for a unique experience. An eclectic mix of local merchants, artisans, craftspeople, farmers, entertainers and of course food vendors. There really is something for everyone.
Summer by the Sea Street Market is an economic benefit to the community. It helps to increase the number of visitors to Parksville and is a great weekday event for those visiting the area. Come down and enjoy the market while supporting local businesses, artisans and food producers.
